How to Calculate MRR in Stripe

Open the Stripe Dashboard

Navigate to dashboard.stripe.com → Subscriptions section from the left sidebar.

Filter Active Subscriptions

Filter by status: Active to see all current paying subscribers.

Export Subscription Data

Click Export to download as CSV with plan amounts, intervals, and statuses.

Normalize Billing Intervals

Convert annual plans to monthly (÷12), quarterly (÷3). Watch for metered billing and usage-based plans.

Sum Monthly Amounts

In your spreadsheet, create a formula to sum all normalized monthly amounts. Exclude trials and free tiers.

Account for Expansion & Contraction

Separate new MRR, expansion MRR (upgrades), contraction MRR (downgrades), and churned MRR for the full picture.
